Three Kawasaki’s in the first four in Sweden

The F&H Kawasaki’s of Henry Jacobi, Adam Sterry and the Bike It DRT KX250 of Darian Sanayei qualified second, third and fourth for the Swedish round of the FIM World MX2 Motocross Championship.

All three clearly showed the strength of their Green machines as they each powered through the sweeping first turn at Uddevalla in the top five with Sterry grabbing the holeshot for the F&H Racing Team and maintaining the lead for nearly two laps in a tight tussle with the world champion and teammate Jacobi. A couple of incidents on lap six saw Sterry temporarily drop back to fourth but the Welshman regrouped immediately and regained third three laps from the finish whilst German teammate Jacobi maintained a strong second place to the finish. Bike It DRT's Sanayei, initially fifth, kept the other Kawasaki’s in sight throughout the race to take over fourth three laps from the end. Bud Racing's Brian Moreau made it four Kawasaki’s in the first seven for half the race until a couple of mistakes pushed him back to fourteenth with teammate Mitchell Harrison nineteenth.

Henry Jacobi: «My gate pick was not that great with an eleventh position in training but I got a great start and that made my race much easier. The track was really difficult today, but I had a nice battle with Adam and Vlaanderen; I managed to finish second after a solid race so I’m confident for tomorrow. »

Adam Sterry: “I got my first EMX win here in the past and I like this track; it's a little bit similar to the Czech Republic where I had some good results a few weeks ago. I took the holeshot in front of Prado! It was nice to lead for a couple of laps but I was losing time in the waves section and Prado, Henry and Vlaanderen each passed me there; then I saw what I was doing wrong and was able to correct it. The track was even rougher than usual but that’s the kind of conditions I like and hopefully I can repeat this result in the GP motos tomorrow.”

Darian Sanayei: “Today went well. In the timed practice session I put in a couple of good laps and was third early in the practice but I didn’t want to use too much energy and was eventually fifth bit I was only two third-of a second from the pole. My jump at the gate wasn't that good today but I had a good line in the first corner and came about sixth and rode a smooth race to finish fourth. The track is probably one of the best on the circuit; today some sections were tricky and you had to be careful but I like this track and expect some good results tomorrow.”

In the MXGP class Tommy Searle of the Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team needed a lap to settle down during the hectic early stages after the KX450-SR once again took him to a top six start, but once he found his rhythm the Englishman was able to push forward from fourteenth to finish twelfth. Alessandro Lupino of Gebben Van Venrooy Kawasaki qualified sixteenth.
